This course is tailored to Northern Ireland
The 2.5 hour CPD accredited course was designed to provide a basic introduction to domestic energy efficiency for frontline staff providing householders with energy efficiency advice. It aims to make delegates aware of how householders can reduce the impact of the energy price rises by using their energy more efficiently, limiting waste, whilst maintaining a warm and comfortable home.
During this course we will:
- Explain how energy is used in the home;
- Identify common heating systems and appliances;
- Explore the use of basic heating controls;
- Discuss the different ways heat is lost in the home and how insulation measures can help prevent this;
- Identify tips to reduce electricity consumption and the cost of heating water;
- Explore different sources of assistance and advice in Northern Ireland.
Course delivery options
- Webinar – Training will be delivered live via Zoom (video conferencing facility)
- Face to face option is available.
Some FULLY FUNDED PLACES are available, supported by the Public Health Agency, to non-commercial organisations, including local health teams, housing providers, voluntary and community groups, and advice agency staff.
Learners must be frontline staff or volunteers that encounter and provide advice to those in or at risk of fuel poverty.
