How will the online assessment work?
For online exams learners will require a quiet room and two separate electronic devices with internet access, sound and a video camera. Both devices must connect to Zoom (video conferencing platform). Device one will be used to connect to Zoom for the exam to be invigilated (this could be a computer, tablet or mobile phone) and device two will be used to access the online exam forms (this could be a computer or tablet).
Learners must attend an exam session observed by an NEA-registered examiner.
Learners are encouraged to book their exam date soon after starting their learning, full details on how to book will be included in the course joining instructions.

Online assessment programme
The online assessment is split into the following three sections and candidates should set aside a full day for the exam:
- Exam Paper One (85 minutes)
- Home Heating
- Bills, Meters and Paying for Fuel
- Exam Paper Two (75 minutes)
- Cutting Down Heat Loss
- Condensation and Dampness
- Simulation (30 minutes)
- Setting central heating programmers
- Energy advisor role-play
Exam times are generally 9:00am registration for a 9:15am start – 5:00pm (approx.)
