Course format
Delivered face-to-face in a classroom setting the course will include a combination of PowerPoint presentations, activities and discussions to keep learners engaged.
All learners will receive a handout booklet covering the relevant topics.
Duration
The course will be delivered across three days (usually consecutive) followed by a one-day exam. The exam will usually take place a week after the training to leave a little time for learners to revise.
Course programme
Course times are generally 09:30am – 4:00pm each day (tea/coffee and lunch will be provided).
How will the assessment work?
Learners must attend an exam session observed by an NEA registered examiner.
The assessment is split into the following three sections and candidates should set aside a full day for the exam. Tea/Coffee and Lunch will be provided.
Exam Paper One (85 minutes)
- Home Heating
- Bills, Meters and Paying for Fuel
Exam Paper Two (75 minutes)
- Cutting Down Heat Loss
- Condensation and Dampness
Simulation (30 minutes)
- Setting central heating programmers
- Energy advisor role-play
